Maddy Harland Coaching - after cancer care referrals for professionals

A considered referral pathway for patients requiring additional emotional support through a cancer diagnosis.

This space has been created to support individuals navigating the emotional reality of life after a cancer diagnosis. It sits alongside clinical care - not as a replacement, but as a considered extension of support, focused on the psychological and emotional experience that often continues long after treatment has ended.

Many individuals reach a point where, while medical care may be ongoing or complete, the internal experience remains complex and difficult to articulate. Feelings of uncertainty, fear, identity shift, and loss of control are common - yet not always easily addressed within clinical settings.

This work offers a space for those experiences to be explored safely, at a pace that feels manageable.

I am a trained Wayfinder Life Coach...

Having completed my certification with Martha Beck - whose work is widely recognised for its depth, rigour, and psychologically informed approach.

My practice combines this professional training with lived experience of a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, allowing me to support clients with both structure and deep personal understanding.

Sessions are conversational, gently led, and grounded in curiosity rather than correction.

Clients are supported to explore their thoughts, emotions, and responses in a way that helps them reconnect with their own sense of direction and internal resources. Alongside one-to-one coaching, structured course-based support is available, designed to help individuals navigate common themes such as:

• the shock of diagnosis and unexpected news
• the psychological impact of waiting for results or treatment outcomes
• cycles of ‘what if’ thinking and anticipatory fear
• feelings of being stuck, disconnected, or changed

These resources are intentionally designed to be accessible, non-overwhelming, and self-paced.

Maddy Harland After Cancer Coaching - Accredited life coach trained by Martha Beck

This is a space that prioritises emotional safety, autonomy, and respect for the individual experience.

Clients are not guided towards a particular outcome, but supported in developing a more stable and compassionate relationship with their thoughts, feelings, and circumstances.

Professionals can feel confident referring to this work as part of a broader support network. It offers patients and clients a place where they can feel: understood, supported, and less alone - particularly during a phase that can often feel isolating, complex, and under-supported

The Fear Nobody Talks About

A simple, supportive course for the moments that feel hardest to navigate. The shock.
 The waiting.
The spiral of ‘what if’ thoughts.
The feeling of being stuck somewhere you didn’t choose. You won’t be asked to fix anything.
Or rush anything. Just to begin, gently.

This is a space that people come to when they need something real. And it’s a space that professionals feel confident recommending -
because the support here is thoughtful, grounded, and deeply human.

You don’t have to carry this on your own.
